What should I do if my scooter is stolen? Mark it as stolen in the Apollo app

Last updated November 5, 2026

  1. Immediately mark the scooter as "Stolen" in the Apollo app.

  2. Once it is marked as stolen, if anyone attempts to connect to the scooter, the owner will be notified with: the email address of the person attempting to connect; the last known location of the scooter; the IP address of the device attempting the connection.

  3. The availability of location and IP data depends on the device's specific privacy settings.

How to mark the scooter as stolen in the Apollo app:

  • Open the sidebar by tapping the circle button in the top left corner, then tap the scooter (with several scooters, tap "Switch Scooter").

  • Scroll down to "Security and ownership" and tap "Mark as stolen".

After marking it as stolen:

  • File a police report with a detailed description of the scooter, the serial number and photos to identify it.

  • If anyone tries to connect, the scooter goes into park mode, speed is limited to 0 and it becomes unusable.

  • The owner can share the details from the notification (email address, last known location, IP address) with law enforcement.

  • Anyone other than you who tries to connect to it in the Apollo app is refused.

If you get your scooter back:

Open the same screen and tap "Unmark as stolen". Connections are allowed again.

If you have Apollo Secure:

How to file a theft claim, the deadlines and the limits are on "Anti-theft protection plan: Apollo Secure price and how to enroll (not Connect+)". What to keep ready: see "Apollo Secure theft claim: documents to send and what happens next".
