E2 or F2 Error Code: throttle sensor circuit fault, scooter will not accelerate
Last updated November 5, 2026
E2 and F2 are the same fault in the throttle sensor circuit, reported at two moments: F2 when the power-on self-test fails, E2 when the fault appears during operation. Everything below applies to both.
Symptoms: E2 or F2 on the display, the scooter fails to accelerate.
Cause: often a pinched or damaged throttle cable after adjustments or a fall (impact damage to the throttle or its connector, or a broken conductor at a high-flex point).
First checks
If the code is F2 (it appeared at power-on): confirm the throttle is resting in its neutral position and is not stuck, held or pressed by a bag or accessory, then power the scooter off and on again.
Inspect the accelerator throttle wires for visible kinks, cuts or exposed conductors.
Unplug and reseat the accelerator throttle connector, checking for bent pins, moisture or corrosion, and clean if needed.
"Temporarily disconnect the accelerator throttle and power on the scooter. If the E2/F2 error clears from the display, the throttle component itself is confirmed as faulty."
If visible damage is found or the throttle is confirmed faulty
Primary fix: replace the damaged accelerator throttle unit (recommended first-line fix).
Alternative: a careful DIY wire repair if the component is otherwise intact and they are experienced with electronics.
Complex case: if several cables are damaged, replace the entire handlebar assembly.
